Love the Wild is a non-profit foundation with a mission to teach children and adults how to learn from, love, and protect the wild.
We do this through sponsoring unique, accessible educational programs and supporting conservation efforts with the next generation in mind.

Our Projects
Enkong 'Nirok Village, Kenya
Love the Wild is actively involved in supporting the Enkong 'Nirok' Village in Kenya, near Kilimanjaro, by promoting environmental education and supporting the sustainability of the villagers. Our initiatives include:
Providing funds to plant drought-resistant trees
Supporting the construction of a fence around the village
Contributing to a food support program for the village and the children's school plus feeding of livestock and during the drought providing food for wildlife
Collaborating with the non-profit organization Red-P to provide scholarships for 16 middle and high school children in the village to attend school.
Additionally, we provided the funds to construct a trough for their livestock and installed two ponds to offer wildlife a place to drink (to learn more, see below). All of this is only part of our accomplishments, and to continue doing what we do, we rely on the kind donations of people like yourself. To donate or learn more about our efforts, clickHERE.
Recently, our support of the Village has gone through its largest undertaking yet. Previously, the women of the Village had to walk miles every day to collect water. We found this situation unacceptable and were determined to make a change by putting in a well for them.
We realized that many animals would come to the well, posing potential dangers to human-animal contact. With this in mind, we provided funding to construct a small water hole between the well itself and the village, as well as a larger water hole, ensuring that both animals and humans would be safe from one another.
Our Support in Borneo, Belize, and Botswana
Our support of ACES Wildlife Rescue in Belize is being used to build enclosures for crocodiles and other animals they have rescued.
Scholarships and Educational Support
We have provided support for education in Borneo, and we are continuing the same mission by giving scholarship funds in Belize to a wonderful student named Genevieve. Here she is holding a guitar she made from recyclable materials! We are also currently sponsoring 14 children in the Kenyan Village to attend school.
This quarter, Love the Wild supported our long-time partner Elephants Without Borders (EWB) in collaring this magnificent bull elephant named Moya Wa Molelo, which means Spirit of Fire. Collaring allows EWB to monitor the elephant's location, providing valuable insights into its habits and patterns. This information is essential for understanding how elephants interact with humans, enabling EWB to ensure the safety and well-being of both groups.
Local Support
Even on the local level, we have been able to help with conservation. This month, our local Idaho Falls Zoo and an Oregon conservation group have partnered together to improve the population of the iconic Trumpeter Swan. These animals have faced hardships due to habitat degradation, so these groups have banded together to raise swans in captivity so they may eventually be released into the wild. This project has involved the creation of a new enclosure for the zoo to house the swans, which we donated to help fund. We wish them the best of luck, and we look forward to seeing the progress they make.
Education
Love the Wild works closely with our sister organization, Green Kids Club to donate books around the world. This quarter, we sent books to a school in Virginia and to Save Elephant Foundation in Thailand. We also offer presentations, readings, and podcasts, and are exploring additional ways to get these educational books into the hands of children and adults all over the world.
Contact us at [email protected] for more information about book readings, presentations, or book donations. We would love to connect with you!
How You Can Support Us
SHOP OUR WEBSITE AND GIVE TO THE WILD
Love the Wild is the non-profit arm of Green Kids Club which donates a percentage of profits from the sale of all their books to Love the Wild Foundation (as well as other partners they work with). In addition to books about animals and environmental stewardship for children and adults, we also have apparel and accessories in our Love the Wild Foundation shop. The proceeds from sales will be donated to the Foundation to support our education and conservation initiatives!
