Welcome Agnes, Mary Ann and Kelly!
We are pleased to welcome three amazing new Advisory Board members, Agnes Itote, Mary Ann Cherry and Kelly Landen. ______________________________
Agnes is an experienced IT Project and Program Manager with over 18 years in the field, including work in East and Southern Africa, India, and the United States. She holds a Master's Degree in Management Information Systems and various professional certifications. Originally from Kenya, Agnes grew up amidst wildlife, leading to a deep appreciation for the environment and a passion for supporting youth and promoting coexistence between humans and nature. ______________________________
Raised in rural Montana, Mary Ann's lifelong passion for nature and wildlife led her to a dual major in fine art and German at Eastern Montana College. A multifaceted artist, writer, and graphic designer, Cherry has served as president and board member for various national art groups like Women Artists of the West and American Women Artists. She primarily creates western, wildlife, and Native American themed paintings, actively promoting her own work as well as that of fellow artists. Cherry also designs advertising for national magazines, manages websites, and produces videos, particularly for nonprofits and artists. Currently, she is exploring AI applications for her groups and illustrating a children’s book about Sacajawea. ______________________________
Kelly, co-founder of Elephants Without Borders, has transitioned from a volunteer and field guide across the Americas to managing operations for the organization in Botswana. Her work now encompasses overseeing educational programs, elephant orphanage initiatives, and participating in fieldwork. Additionally, Kelly's professional conservation photography has gained recognition, featuring in prestigious publications worldwide.
We are very excited to have them join us!
Our Projects
Enkong 'Nirok Village, Kenya
Love the Wild is actively involved in promoting environmental education in Enkong 'Nirok Village, Kenya, near Kilimanjaro. Our initiatives include:
Launching an environmental club for local children
Helping the village with funds to plant drought resistant trees
Funds to build a greenhouse
Contributing to a food support program for the village
Collaborating with the non-profit Red-P, providing scholarships for all 16 children in the village to attend school.
Love the Wild has future plans to help the village protect their food and water supplies, provide them with more resources to become self-sufficient and also assist them in finding ways to prevent human and wildlife conflict. To donate, or learn more about our efforts, clickHERE.
Our support of ACES Wildlife Rescue in Belize is being used to build enclosures for crocodiles and other animals they have rescued.
Scholarships in Borneo and Belize
At Tanjungpura University in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, Tengku Nesya Aulia's is dedicated to her study of Forestry. She has a passion for orangutan conservation and environmental protection. Love the Wild provides support to the protection and preservation of orangutans and is proud to be able to provide financial assistance for Tengku to finish her schooling!
We also provide scholarship funds for Genevieve to attend school in Belize! Here she holds a guitar she made from recyclable materials.
Education
Love the Wild works closely with our sister organization, Green Kids Club to donate books around the world. So far this year, we have provided books to schools in Belize, to Save Elephant Foundation in Thailand, to the village we support in Kenya, to a camp in the US for children fighting cancer, and to the Wyoming Wildlife Advocates. We also do presentations, readings and podcasts, and are exploring more ways to get these educational books into the hands of students around the globe.
Contact us at [email protected] for more information about book readings, presentations or book donations. We would love to connect with you!

How You Can Support Us
SHOP OUR WEBSITE AND GIVE TO THE WILD
Love the Wild is the non-profit arm of Green Kids Club which donates a percentage of profits from the sale of all their books to Love the Wild Foundation (as well as other partners they work with). In addition to books about animals and environmental stewardship for children and adults, we also have apparel and accessories in our Love the Wild Foundation shop. The proceeds from sales will be donated to the Foundation to support our education and conservation initiatives!
You can also support us by purchasing an item from artists who donate a portion of the sale to our Foundation! Eric Thorsen Gallery created this sculpture in honor of Grizzly 399 and we will have it available for sale soon! Also artist Jessica Becker is donating a portion of the sale of this darling fox picture to us!
As with any non-profit, we rely on contributions and donations to fund our work. You can learn more about us and donate at www.lovethewild.org.
