Love the Wild is a non-profit foundation with a mission to teach children and adults how to learn from, love, and protect the wild.
We do this through sponsoring unique, accessible educational programs and supporting conservation efforts with the next generation in mind.
Join us in our efforts to ensure wild lands and wildlife can be enjoyed by generations to come. Learn more at www.lovethewild.org.

Our Projects
We hope your year is off to a hopeful and inspiring start! March is a big month for us at Love the Wild Foundation, with new projects taking root in our local community and a special seasonal activity to help you connect more deeply with yours.
Farm to Fork:
We are partnering with Happyville Community Farm to lead a series of classes to teach the basics of cooking using fresh sustainable ingredients while promoting healthier food choices. These classes will not only empower community members to cook healthier meals but also instill a sense of responsibility towards sustainable food choices!
IFPL Summer Book Reading and Giveaway: If you're in the South-East Idaho region please join us the first Wednesday of both June and July at 10:30am at the Idaho Falls Public Library (IFPL) for readings of Green Kids Club books. Everyone is welcome and will receive a free book after the reading!
Idaho Gives: This year we are participating in Idaho gives which is a four-day, statewide online giving event running from May 4–7, 2026, designed to raise money and awareness for Idaho nonprofits. If you haven't donated already consider giving during this time as this event matches donations to increase nonprofit impact.
Supported Elephant Collaring with Elephants Without Borders
Love the Wild Foundation provided funding to collar one bull elephant in Botswana. Data is kept to protect elephant herds from poachers and to monitor them.
Our support of ACES Wildlife Rescue in Belize is being used to build enclosures for crocodiles and other animals they have rescued.
Sending Twenty-Six New Students to School in Kenya
Love the Wild is sponsoring over two dozen students from ENKONG'U NAROK village to attend various secondary schools this year in the Amboseli area in Kenya.
Seasonal Environmental Activity
To celebrate the arrival of spring, we’ve created a simple educational activity you can try with kids, friends, or on your own:
Spring Habitat Detective 🔎
Goal:
Notice how local plants and wildlife are waking up, migrating, or nesting as the season changes—and learn what these changes tell us about the health of our environment.
1. Choose a spot
Visit a nearby park, schoolyard, backyard, or even a balcony where you can see plants, insects, or birds.
2. Spend 10–15 minutes in quiet observation.
Note:
Birds (species, colors, behaviors)
Insects or other small animals
New leaves, buds, flowers, or fungi
3. Record your findings
Write or draw:
What you see
What you hear
How the air feels (warm, cool, windy, damp)
4. Ask habitat questions
Where could animals find food here?
Where could they find water ?
Where could they find shelter or nesting spots?
If you are not familiar with something you find, use the internet to learn more about it! Taking time to observe these things is a good opportunity to learn about the local ecosystems we move through every day.
5. Reflect and Share
What surprised you?
What small change could make this place friendlier to wildlife (a native plant, a bird bath, less mowing, no pesticides)?
Invite participants to share their notes, drawings, or photos with us—this helps build a bigger picture of seasonal changes in our communities.
How You Can Support Us
SHOP OUR WEBSITE AND GIVE TO THE WILD
Love the Wild is the non-profit arm of Green Kids Club which donates a percentage of profits from the sale of all their books to Love the Wild Foundation (as well as other partners they work with). In addition to books about animals and environmental stewardship for children and adults, we also have apparel and accessories in our Love the Wild Foundation shop. The proceeds from sales will be donated to the Foundation to support our education and conservation initiatives!
