Happy New Year!
What is Love the Wild?

Love the Wild is a non-profit foundation with a mission to teach children and adults how to learn from, love, and protect the wild.

We do this through sponsoring unique, accessible educational programs and supporting conservation efforts with the next generation in mind.

Join us in our efforts to ensure wild lands and wildlife can be enjoyed by generations to come. Learn more at
Welcome, EmmaLee and Sylar!
We are pleased to welcome two new Board members, EmmaLee Robinson and Syler Peralta-Ramos.

EmmaLee has been in the financial services industry for over 19 years, with an emphasis on educating, organizing, and preparing her clients on the latest wealth preservation and business planning. She and her husband, Mark, have three children. They love doing outdoor activities and traveling together.

Syler is an award-winning photographer, guide, conservationist, storyteller, and teacher. He grew up in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, only briefly leaving Wyoming to complete his B.S. in Environmental Science and an M.A. in Multimedia Environmental Communication at Stanford University. In the classroom, Syler developed an in-depth understanding of wildlife, the natural world and the threats they face – always aiming to share that understanding with others through photography, film, writing and teaching.

We are very excited to have them join us!
Last Year in Review
We had a busy 2023. Check out our highlights!

During 2023 Love the Wild provided support to three villages in Kenya. Efforts included assisting in environmental education efforts, the planting of drought resistant trees and helping livestock and villagers with other issues related to the prolonged drought. We are currently actively involved in promoting environmental education in Enkong 'Nirok Village, Kenya, near Kilimanjaro. Our initiatives include launching an environmental club for local children, helping them with resources to plant trees and build a greenhouse, and contributing to a food support program for the village. Save Elephant Foundation

In 2023, our sister organization, Green Kids Club, worked with Lek Chailert to create a children's book that tells the remarkable story of her life and how she came to be such a passionate advocate for elephants and other wildlife. The book can be purchased HERE and a portion of the proceeds go to help support her organization!
Update on Prillicia

Prillicia Gumbang, a student formerly sponsored by Love the Wild, recently graduated with high honors from Palangka Raya University. She has made significant strides in orangutan conservation, supported by the Orangutan Caring Scholarship from the Orang Utan Republik Foundation and the Borneo Nature Foundation. Her research focused on habitat restoration and her groundbreaking bioacoustic study in Sebangau National Park revealed critical insights into orangutan communication. She also concentrated on community-led reforestation in Mantangai Hulu Village. Congratulations Prillicia!

Love the Wild also provides scholarships to children like Genevieve. We have a strong commitment to educating children and continue to look for opportunities to make a difference in their lives!

Love the Wild works closely with our sister organization, Green Kids Club to donate books to several organizations. In 2023, we donated more than 2,500 books to schools and organizations! We also do presentations, readings and podcasts, and are exploring more ways to get these educational books into the hands of students around the globe.

Contact us at [email protected] for more information about book readings, presentations or book donations for your classrooms. We would love to connect with you!

In 2023, we moved our environmental education club for kids from Green Kids to Love the Wild! We are excited about its growing membership and will be sharing expanded efforts to include youth in 2024. How You Can Support Us
Love the Wild is the non-profit arm of Green Kids Club which donates a percentage of profits from the sale of all their books to Love the Wild Foundation (as well as other partners they work with).  In addition to books about animals and environmental stewardship for children and adults, we also have apparel and accessories in our Love the Wild Foundation shop.  The proceeds from sales will be donated to the Foundation to support our education and conservation initiatives!
You can also support us by purchasing an item from artists who donate a portion of the sale to our Foundation! Eric Thorsen Gallery created this sculpture in honor of Grizzly 399 and we will have it available for sale soon! Also artist Jessica Becker is donating a portion of the sale of this darling fox picture to us!
As with any non-profit, we rely on contributions and donations to fund our work. You can learn more about us and donate at
