What is Love the Wild?

Love the Wild is a non-profit foundation with a mission to teach children and adults how to learn from, love, and protect the wild.

We do this through sponsoring unique, accessible educational programs and supporting conservation efforts with the next generation in mind.

Join us in our efforts to ensure wild lands and wildlife can be enjoyed by generations to come. Learn more at www.lovethewild.org.

Our Projects

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we wrap up another incredible year at Love the Wild, we want to take a moment to reflect on our shared accomplishments and the impact we’ve made together for wildlife conservation. Thanks to your support, we have been able to take significant strides in ensuring a better future for our planet’s animals and habitats. Let’s celebrate the top highlights of 2025!

Educational Outreach Programs

Our educational initiatives reached over 350 students this year, raising awareness about wildlife conservation and fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment in young minds.

Furthermore, we were able to build a well in the Village in Kenya so children and their families can have access to clean drinking water. Previously, the women of the Village had to walk miles every day to collect water. We found this situation unacceptable and were determined to make a change by putting in a well for them.
Villagers were so happy when the well went in!
We realized that many animals would come to the well, posing potential dangers to human-animal contact. With this in mind, we provided funding to construct a small water hole between the well itself and the village, as well as a larger water hole, ensuring that both animals and humans would be safe from one another.

Our Support in Borneo, Belize, and Botswana

Wildlife Rescue Operations

We supported the Teton Wildlife Rehabilitation Center’s wildlife rescue operations, saving injured and orphaned animals and getting them the rehabilitation they need to return to the wild.

Supported Elephant Collaring with Elephants Without Borders

Love the Wild Foundation is providing funding to collar one bull elephant in Botswana. Data is kept to protect elephant herds from poachers and to monitor them.
Our support of ACES Wildlife Rescue in Belize is being used to build enclosures for crocodiles and other animals they have rescued.
Scholarships and Educational Support
In the past, we provided support for education in Borneo, and we are continuing the same mission by giving scholarship funds in Belize to a wonderful student named Genevieve. Here she is holding a guitar she made from recyclable materials!  We are also currently sponsoring 14 children in the Kenyan Village to attend school.

Partnerships with Local Organizations

We formed a valuable partnership with The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho, which helped expand our reach and effectiveness in conservation efforts, culminating in an exhibition showcasing works from the Society of Animal Artists (SAA), a premier organization dedicated to capturing the beauty, power, and spirit of the animal kingdom through fine art. This partnership has now extended to the Society of Animal Artists. We sponsored an artist award for a beautiful image depicting a tiger drinking from a pond.

David Rankin was awarded by the Love the Wild Foundation for this beautiful image he drew. The image is titled "Tiger in the Moonlight."

Funding to send kids to Teton Science School

Love the Wild sent sixteen teenagers to attend Teton Science Schools this year.  Its programs emphasize hands-on, standards-based education in Grand Teton National Park, using the outdoors as a classroom to foster a deep connection to the environment and understanding ecological challenges.

To celebrate the new year, Love the Wild will give a copy of our latest book, "Grizzly 399 Spirit of the Tetons, " to the first two people who respond to this newsletter."  Go to https://www.lovethewild.org/contact-us.html

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with hope and excitement for the future. Your continued support allows us to dream bigger and aim for greater achievements in wildlife conservation. Together, we can make a lasting impact and ensure that future generations will also have the chance to enjoy the beauty of our planet’s diverse wildlife.

Thank you for being an integral part of our mission at Love the Wild. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year ahead!

With gratitude,

Sylvia Medina and The Love the Wild Team
